Our weekly meal plan this week is all about eating up what we already have in the pantry, fridge and freezer. I have a budget of just £20 for this weeks groceries so making the most of what we already have is crucial.
Weekly meal plan – 3rd March 2018
Monday – Soup, most likely leek and potato soup again with warm crusty bread made in the bread maker.
Tuesday – Quiche, I have some smoked salmon leftover from Christmas which I may use up in this. (If anyone has any good recipes for a Quiche or smoked salmon please let me know.) I’m enjoying making my own super quick pastry at the moment, it literally takes minutes to throw together and make a pie or Quiche. I will get the recipe written up and on the blog soon.
Wednesday – Curry, I batch cooked last weeks slow cooker chicken curry and froze it so we have enough for a meal this week. I love a veggie curry so I will make my own chickpeas, spinach and sweet potato curry in the slow cooker. I’ll be batch cooking this too so it’s ready to pop in the freezer for another day.
Thursday – Pasta, with homemade tomato pasta sauce or pesto. Nice quick easy tea.
Friday – Freezer food/leftovers, anything we have leftover or pot luck from the freezer.
Saturday – Homemade pizza, I really need to write up our pizza dough recipe and pop it on the blog! We make a pizza most weeks as it’s something I know we will all eat and enjoy.
Sunday – Sausages and mash, maybe Yorkshire puddings alongside with lots of yummy veg and gravy!
I’m linking up with The Organised Life Project and Katykicker for this weekly meal plan linky.
My favourite of yours this week is the quiche. I have never made one before but I love smoked Salmon so that sounds so delicious.
I bet I’ll be dreaming of it and will eventually make one. I’m like that. If I see someone boiling eggs on tv, I’ll feel like making some too, lol. Thanks for the ideas this week.
I need to do some batch cooking to make life a bit easier. I am also loving homemade quiche at the mo.
Wow that is a small budget! I’m sure you’ll make the best of it and it sounds like you’re going to have some lovely meals still! Sausage and mash is one of my favourite hearty meals EVER!
Wow, you’ve done really well on a very limited budget. You’ve still got lots of variety and some great family favourites too. Thanks for linking up.
