Here is our weekly meal plan for this week. I have incorporated eating the leftovers of a roast chicken we cooked this weekend into the meal plan to prevent any wasted food.
Weekly meal plan – 24th March 2018
Monday – Chicken curry made with leftover roast chicken, an onion, some garam masala and chopped tomatoes. Served with rice.
Tuesday – Stir fry with noodles and lots of veg. I might try to make this with the homemade Thai green curry paste that I have in the freezer and a tin of coconut milk? We tend to have this with rice but I can’t see why it wouldn’t work with noodles.
Wednesday – Sausage and mash with broccoli and gravy. This is such a favourite in our house we have it most weeks at the moment.
Thursday – Pasta, with a tomatoey sauce or pesto. It’s not very exciting but the kids love pasta and it works out to be a nice cheap simple dish.
Friday – Freezer food/ leftovers. Every Friday is freezer food Friday, where we rummage through the freezer to see what we can find. This prevents us wasting food that we could easily forget about.
Saturday – I’m still not sure about Saturday yet but I’m sure we’ll throw something together.
Sunday – We’re visiting family this Sunday for an Easter roast dinner so no need to cook on this day.
