There comes a time for most of us when we need some quick cash. Whether it’s for an unplanned expense or you just don’t have the money to get you through to your next payday it can be a worry. Here are a few ways you can get money when you really need it.

Make extra cash with surveys
Completing paid surveys is a super quick and easy way to make some extra cash when you need it most. It costs you nothing to get started and it could seriously help you get through to pay day.
The only downside from making money with surveys is that your time for money is quite low. But in my opinion beggars really can’t be choosers and it’s better than nothing. However there are some survey sites that offer a good time for money exchange. Here is a list of my recommended survey sites.
Sell your old junk
If you have it and don’t use it/ want it anymore then sell it on to free up some cash. You could try eBay or a selling app such as Mercari for you’re better items.
For things such as DVD’s or electricals try a service such as Music Magpie who offer you an instant price on these types of items. If you need the money the same day then I can also recommend heading down to CEX. They offer you up front cash for your old consoles, electricals, DVD’s and video games.
Sign up to become a mystery shopper
Signing up to become a mystery shopper is great if you have no cash for two reasons. The first and most obvious reason is that you will be paid for your time. And the second reason is that you may end up with some free stuff too. If you manage to get a mystery shop in a restaurant it will mean a free meal.
Try signing up to a mystery shopping app such as Bemyeye to start making money today. Also check out all you need to know about mystery shopping in the UK right here.
If all else fails try borrowing money
I would always encourage you to try and work out your money issues before borrowing money. But I understand that sometimes it is necessary and could get out of a really tricky spot. I would recommend asking any friends or family to lend you the money first as obviously you will be able to pay them back without added interest.
Prepare for this happening again in the future with an emergency fund
It’s never a nice feeling when you need money but you don’t have it! To prevent this happening again I would strongly suggest budgeting each month and setting aside a bit of cash to go in an emergency fund.
If you struggle with savings then I recommend using a messenger app such as Plum which automatically calculates your money and saves your money for you.
