This post is all about our dream wedding day venue. When we finally get married after saving to buy our first home (one that we own) this is what we would envisage it to look like.
Our dream wedding day venue
The inspiration for this post came from this website. This beautiful venue got me thinking about how and where we would get married when we finally do. Obviously right now we are saving to buy our first home with a mortgage so unfortunately weddings are just out of the question. For the next year or so at least anyway. Saving for a mortgage really does take most of your money although we are happy about that otherwise we wouldn’t be doing it. But when the day does finally come around this is how we would love it to look.
Okay so the venue is what got me thinking about this in the first place so lets start there. I love being outdoors with the countryside around me and lots of green spaces. So I think an old barn type building would be perfect, obviously with a touch of sparkle and luxury. I would love lots of indoor plants and a ceiling covered in fairy lights. I’m not sure if it’s just me that loves a ceiling covered in fairy lights, there’s just something a little bit magical about it?
I could imagine the tables and chairs being quite rustic and farmhouse kind of looking, with big chunky farmhouse style tables. The chairs would have off white sashes tied around them in a natural decorative way. The food would be simple foods that most people would enjoy. Such as roast dinner or burger and chips (I know my kids would love that). With a vegan option for the veggies and vegans attending. Dessert would have to be something chocolatey like vegan brownie or chocolate tart, or maybe even a sticky toffee pudding.
I would love a really laid back day so the venue would need to be quite laid back and not too stuffy. Where everyone could just kick back and relax without feeling like they were out of place. I’m naturally laid back and hate to be too ‘put together’ if that makes sense. I would prefer a day that just flows rather than controlling everything about it.
In the evening I could imagine some great music inside the venue with a place for people to sit beneath a veranda type structure just chilling out outside. I tend to avoid events that are too ‘busy’ so making the day too much wouldn’t be enjoyable for either of us.
I’m much more a converse type of girl instead of a skyscraper heels kind of girl so I would probably go for trainers of some kind with my dress. My partner would probably opt for this too with his very laid back style. My dress would also probably just be quite laid back. Possibly even a short ivory dress with converse or vans on my feet.
