My dream wedding day
We’re currently saving to buy our first home and there are no current plans for a wedding in particular although we have spoken about it. We have talked about getting married and where we would like to get married, who we would invite and those regular kinds of things.
The venue
When the time finally comes to getting married we would love a barn style wedding. I love the outdoors and neither of us are particularly fancy. We’re both very relaxed and wouldn’t feel right in a posh place with too much going on. We would much rather have a chilled out event where everyone could relax and enjoy themselves. A barn kind of conjures that idea of relaxed, outdoorsy kind of feel for us which we really like. The transport to and from the venue would probably also be relaxed as well. I’m not sure what car we would choose but I’m pretty sure my other half would want to pick this for us anyway.
Outfits
The outfits would also need to be fairly relaxed, I don’t think I could wear a massive dress all day so a smaller, shorter and more practical option would probably suit me better. Potentially a shorter dress with not too much detail going on? And flat shoes! Oh my goodness I don’t think I could do a day in heels even if it is my wedding day. I don’t wear heels every day so I don’t think I would change that to get married in. I would much rather wear a comfy pair of smart trainers. Maybe with a ribbon detail instead of laces. I always said I would wear my converse if I could!
The food
I personally think this is the most important part of the day for everyone invited! I would want to try to have something that every one should enjoy to eat. Although I know that’s probably easier said than done. Then for the evening a buffet filled with lots of cool foods such as mini burgers, pizza slices, and veggie nibbles. I’m a vegan so I don’t eat dairy, meat or any animal products so vegan options would need to available. Although since becoming vegan I’ve noticed that a lot of everyday usual foods are already vegan without switching anything up so this part shouldn’t be too hard.
The cake
I’m not sure that I would want a traditional wedding cake, I would much prefer a chocolatey cake with real chocolate decoration. My other half loves lemon cake so we would need to have at least 2 tiers on the cake to suit me and him. With maybe some cupcakes around the base of the cake. This would be great for any children that we invite so they can pick up the cupcakes when they want them without worrying about knives getting in the way etc.
